But, you can get the Apex trigger kit w/o the replacement trigger for like $85 (on Amazon) and that's relatively easy to install if you can remove the rear sight and replace it yourself. The Apex Tactical Forward Set Sear and Trigger kit was designed to mimic a 1911 trigger. This kit moves the trigger breakpoint of a standard Smith & Wesson M&P forward and reduces the uptake and overtravel. Installation of the complete kit will yield a trigger pull of 4-5 lbs. Machined of aircraft grade aluminum and black hard anodized, this parts kit will stand up to years of hard use and show little wear.

Notes
Works with all Smith & Wesson M&P Pistols (excluding M&P M2.0) in all centerfire calibers and configurations. Does NOT function in the M&P M2.0, M&P Shield, BodyGuard, 22 or 22 Compact pistols. Does NOT function with Apex Tactical Forward Set Set and Trigger Kit for S&W M&P (224558).
This kit REQUIRES the use of the larger 1/8 inch sear spring and plunger set up. If your M&P has a 1/16th inch diameter sear plunger and spring, we strongly advise you upgrade to a new style sear housing block before installing this product. All function and reliability testing was done with a 1/8 inch sear plunger and spring, therefore we cannot guarantee proper function without the appropriate size sear plunger and spring. Modern sear housing blocks can be found on MidwayUSA!

This kit is a combination of the Apex Duty/Carry Kit for the M&P Shield 45 and the Apex Action Enhancement Trigger for the M&P Shield 45. The Trigger Kit directly replaces the factory hinged trigger with a solid aluminum trigger body which reduces pre-travel and over-travel by approximately 20%. It features a smooth face with a center mounted pivoting safety that maintains factory safety values.
The Apex Duty/Carry Kit for the Shield 45 was designed to provide the pistol owner a smooth, consistent trigger pull that is approximately in the range of 5.0 to 5.5 lbs. with the advantages of shorter over-travel and more detectable trigger reset.
